Our GPs are able to surgically remove small skin lesions such as skin tags and cysts, and suspicious looking lesions or biopsy lesions to examine for skin cancer. Our doctors are able to repair wounds with suturing or wound glue if required. If you are concerned about a lesion, please speak to one of our doctors.
Plantar warts are non-cancerous skin growths caused by the human papilloma virus. Planter warts are spread from person to person contact, or from indirect contact with the virus in communal showers. Our doctors can discuss treatment options such as liquid nitrogen therapy.
Certain doctors have special interests in skin checks and procedural medicine and will be able to assess and remove skin lesions.
Our doctors are trained to perform Implanon insertion and removals. Implanon is a thin plastic rod that can provide effective contraception for 3 years. Implanon works by slowly releasing contraceptive progesterone hormone. Implanon may be an option for you, speak to one of our doctors at Crown St Medical Centre for more information.
