Crown St Medical Centre (Surry Hills) will primarily be a private billing medical practice from 12 April 2021.
- Dr G Georgiou and Dr K Tewari (who joins in April 21) will continue to bulk-bill between 10am-4pm.
- Children 15 years & under, and Concession Card holders will continue to be bulk-billed from 10am-4pm, on weekends (excludes public holidays).
- Why the New Changes? The new changes have been implemented due to the rising costs of rent, wages and facilities.
- Crown St Medical Centre has not increased the GP consultation fees in over six years.
- Unfortunately, the government indexation of Medicare rebates has never kept pace with the true costs of living.
- This chart shows the rising costs of running a medical practice, compared to Medicare’s fee schedule increases over the past 30 years.
- The changes coming to effect in April 2021 will allow the medical centre to remain sustainable long term.
