Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual international health campaign that takes place in October to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection and treatment. Our Surry Hills Doctors and GPs would like to raise awareness this month by:
- Promoting Patient Education: Our Surry Hills doctors & GPs will be opportunistically talking about breast health, including the importance of regular breast self-exams, and when to schedule mammograms and clinical breast exams. They can provide information on risk factors and lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk of breast cancer.
- Our Surry Hills medical team are participating in workshops, seminars, and educational events to provide information about breast cancer, its symptoms, and the benefits of early detection.
- Our Surry Hills medical centre team will be participating in fundraising efforts to support breast cancer research, treatment, and patient support services such as the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
- Our Surry Hills GPs encourage regular check-ups and screenings by sending reminders to patients. This is especially important for higher risk breast cancer patients and those with a positive family history.
- Our Surry Hills Doctors provide emotional support and guidance to patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Our GPs can guide patients to understand their treatment options and connect them with support groups and resources.
